Hong Foundation and Panasonic Taiwan Donate Home Appliances to Support Hualien Disaster Relief and Reconstruction

The Hong Foundation joins the government’s disaster relief initiative, donating small home appliances to Hualien through the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
In the aftermath of Typhoon Kasha, the collapse of the dam at Mataian Creek in Hualien caused severe flooding and landslides that buried numerous homes in Guangfu Township, leaving residents struggling to rebuild their lives. As people across Taiwan joined efforts to remove mud and debris, the next challenge became helping affected families restore their homes and return to everyday life.
Upholding its spirit of responding to social needs, the Hong Foundation joined hands with the Panasonic Taiwan to donate essential home appliances in support of post-disaster recovery in Hualien. The Foundation contributed NT$500,000 to purchase 180 electric kettles with temperature control and 180 water filter pitchers, while the Panasonic Group donated 100 home appliances valued at NT$1.08 million, including 50 refrigerators, 20 rice cookers, 25 microwave ovens, and 5 ovens. All items were distributed to disaster-affected residents through coordination by the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The Hong Foundation sincerely wishes for the swift recovery and peace of the affected communities, and will continue to contribute its efforts—working hand in hand with partners across society—to bring hope and warmth to those in need.
