Young Art- Understanding the World Through Art

The Co-learning Project features an art education workshop for children in elementary school grades 2-6. The program includes Discussion Classes, which use stories and creative activities to explore contemporary issues Exhibition Classes, which take participants directly to exhibition venues for an open-ended artistic experience.

Now - Start Diving!

"The truth is like the Titanic, sunk to the bottom of the sea!" "I'm online all day, silently lurking." "He infiltrated the enemy camp, caused chaos, and completed his spy mission perfectly."

The 2024 Young Art, with its annual theme of "Art and Conflict," is launching its final session this December. "Now - Start Diving!" is an adventure. We will submerge ourselves in different fields of exploration and eventually surface with treasures from the deep.

This time, the exhibition class will start with a submarine installation in the "Beta+" exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei. As the sea level rises, our thoughts will drift, and the lines between past and future, everyday life and art, nature and the man-made will blur. Then, following the layout of the "Thermal Imaging" exhibition on the second floor, we'll face the ultimate questions of illusion versus reality.

Next comes the full-fledged discussion class, where we will hold a "Submarine Meeting." Using time as our depth meter, we'll begin our descent! We will follow clues from Japanese journalist and novelist Takeshi Shiota's book, A False Accomplice, to the 2016 Pizzagate incident and the 2017 French presidential election. What is the "post-truth" era? And how do "fake news" stories lie in wait in the deep sea, shaking the entire world?

When our little submariners leave the vessel and return to reality, they may come to understand that some conflicts are as visible as waves on the surface, while others surge and swell silently below. The courage to question and the motivation to seek answers are the most precious treasures from this adventure.
