Ice Black Lake

2020/10/05 - 11/06

2024 Tung Chung Prize|GHOST IN THE SEA-M
This is the final chapter of the Ice Black Lake series. In 2016, during my residency in New York, I created a work in which I photographed family travel images displayed on my computer screen. As a result, the dust and fingerprints on the screen merged with the images of my family, forming a new composite image. After returning, I began experimenting with different approaches. For instance, in 2017, when exhibiting at Duo Jiao Art Space, I made rubbings of the surface of the photographs; in 2018, at Good Underground Art Space, I used an enlarger to scan the images, allowing their textures to appear like a kind of residue.
